WHO ARE WE?

Hearology are forward thinkers and creative professionals who understand where the future of the hearing industry is headed – and want to adapt with it.

Meet the Founder

Sandra

As a registered audiologist, Sandra has over 10 years of clinical and industry experience; she has worked in independent and corporate clinics as a clinical audiologist, worked with hearing aid manufacturers as a product trainer for fellow clinicians, and most recently, helped expand a virtual audiology clinic – the first of its kind – into the Canadian market, tackling political and regulatory barriers along the way. She is well-versed in the latest advancements in hearing healthcare & technology, and doesn’t shy away from attacking a difficult problem head-on.

Hearology's Story

Get to Know Us

Independently owned and operated, Hearology was born from Sandra’s desire to provide clients with convenient, reliable and quality hearing healthcare, all from the comfort of their home. With the knowledge of an ever-changing hearing industry, Hearology welcomes and incorporates virtual care and practices into its modern philosophy, while maintaining high standards of practice.

Our Mission

Hearology aims to provide convenient, reliable, at-home hearing care, by connecting you in-person and virtually to the important hearing healthcare providers needed to properly assess hearing, and program and dispense hearing aids.

Over-the-counter hearing aids are coming...

On August 16th, 2022, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) ruled to improve access to hearing aids, which would allow those with a mild to moderate hearing loss to purchase instruments online, from a pharmacy, or a retailer without the need of any type of assessment, prescription or customization from a hearing healthcare provider (such as an Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist).

October 17th, 2022, OTC (over-the-counter) hearing aids became available for purchase in the United States to the public.

Canada isn’t quite there yet, with Health Canada regulating the sale of hearing aids, and requiring healthcare professionals to prescribe them. Canada is, however, widely accepting and working with advancements in virtual care and teleaudiology.

Knowledge is the key to better hearing...

Hearology  believes in the knowledge hearing healthcare professionals hold about hearing health, research advancements, and updates in technology, and we believe in the value they bring to you. Not only should your hearing healthcare be personalized and educational, but your hearing health doesn’t deserve a one-size-fits-all solution.

We understand that not everyone wants to sit in a cold medical office only to get “sold”, and spending hours bouncing around from clinic to clinic to shop around for the “right fit” or the “right price” can be daunting.

Our Promise to You

We’ll always offer you a personalized experience, the latest in hearing assessments & instruments, and the support of hearing healthcare providers, embracing and working with technological advancements and changes in the hearing industry.
